Smiddy and Jasper are neighbouring cottages at West Hollowcombe Farm that can be booked together to create the perfect retreat for larger families or group escapes. Set deep in the heart of Exmoor National Park, these beautiful cottages are surrounded by sweeping hills, ancient woodland, and open moorland. The tranquil, rural location provides direct access to picturesque walking trails and a wealth of local wildlife, making it an exceptional base for nature enthusiasts and outdoor explorers. 

Smiddy (Sleeps 4)

Smiddy is a characterful cottage at West Hollowcombe Farm, once the village blacksmith’s hub and now a warm, welcoming holiday retreat. Its open-plan living space features high ceilings, exposed brickwork, wooden beams, and a romantic spiral staircase leading to a galleried landing. The lounge invites relaxation with a wood-burning stove, while the dining area is perfect for gathering over meals. The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and microwave, plus access to a communal washer and dryer. Sleeping arrangements include a super king (or twin) bedroom on the ground floor and a double bedroom accessed via the spiral staircase, both served by a Jack and Jill bathroom with bath and separate shower. Outside, enjoy a furnished patio, private garden, picnic bench, and BBQ, ideal for alfresco dining in the heart of Exmoor.

Jasper

Jasper, is a delightful countryside escape tucked away within Exmoor’s rolling hills and woodland. This charming retreat combines rustic character with modern comfort, making it ideal for romantic getaways, walking holidays, or moorland adventures throughout the year. With its unique upside-down layout, Jasper is cleverly designed to maximise the stunning rural views.

Upstairs, the spacious open-plan living area is full of charm, featuring exposed brickwork, wooden beams, and a cosy wood-burning stove. Comfortable sofas invite you to relax, while the fully equipped kitchen and generous dining table make it easy to cook, share meals, and unwind together.

Downstairs, two inviting bedrooms offer flexible sleeping arrangements with plush bedding and soft furnishings. One has a Jack and Jill bathroom with bath and shower; the other includes an en suite with a shower. Outside, enjoy a large garden, BBQ, and picnic table with sweeping countryside views.
