The Inn at John O’Groats, which has been lovingly restored as part of a multi-million pound regeneration of this stunning area, boasts bespoke self-catering apartments within the hotel, with a choice of 1, 2 or 4 bedrooms. Each offer their own individual charm and all the high quality luxuries of a hotel, but with the freedom of self-catering holidays.
John O’Groats is blessed with some of the finest wildlife in the UK, from Orca and minke whales to seals and dolphins. Just a stones through away from the largest RSPB reserve in Britain, the region is also rich in birdlife, including guillemot, kittiwakes and most famously, puffins. The area boasts so much to enjoy, from superb walking to day trips to the Orkneys and much more. You will also find just a stones throw from the accommodation, the Storehouse cafe where you can enjoy the incredible sea views, whilst sipping a Starbucks coffee next to a roaring log fire.
John O’Groats is remarkably easy to get to, just 15 minutes’ drive from Wick Airport and with good connections from both Edinburgh and Inverness international airports and London City Airport with Flybe. Car hire is available from Inverness and Wick Airports and the 2.5 hour drive from Inverness gives you a chance to absorb some amazing coastal scenery along the North Coast 500 route. We provide complimentary parking for all guests,and we are also 20 minutes from the main A9 trunk road. Wick Railway station is 20 minutes away with good connections from Inverness daily.

Boasting a versatile sea-view event space, on-site luxury accommodation, an Outfitters activity and retail centre and a co-operative Storehouse café in this incredible wilderness, John O’Groats provides the ideal destination for some real blue-sky thinking.
Our dedicated team can arrange delicious catering as well as bespoke itineraries and agendas, with activities ranging from sea safaris around the Stacks of Duncansby to bike hire, guided walks to wreck diving, clay pigeon shooting to whisky tasting.
On-site there are up to 84 bedrooms, made up of 23 eco-friendly three-bedroom lodge-style residences and 17 apartments within the Inn at John O’Groats, which was formerly the iconic John O’Groats Hotel, built in 1875.

With log burning stoves and great coffee-a warm welcome awaits you! Sit back and enjoy magnificent views of the Pentland firth and the iconic John O'Groats signpost. Our Storehouse team welcome everybody, from weary End to Enders, to kids, pets and friendly locals! A simple menu of homemade pizzas and paninis is available, alongside freshly ground Starbucks coffee and a range of wines, beers and ales.
