Well Cottage - Sleeps 4

Well Cottage is a charming 17th-century Norfolk flint cottage nestled in a peaceful hideaway off the village green in Cley-next-the-Sea. This beautifully restored retreat retains many original features, including ancient beams, an oak spice cupboard, and a large inglenook fireplace, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

This quintessentially English cottage welcomes guests into a spacious lower floor which features two living areas for extra comfort. The living room offers plush sofas which sit in front of a warming wood-burning stove and a flat screen TV for your entertainment. The map room/study features a versatile drop-leaf table, perfect for enjoying games, planning scenic hikes, or hosting family dinners. 

A 50’s style kitchen with original shelving and a stainless-steel sink unit, comes fully equipped with everything guests may need to enjoy a home cooked meal. Amenities include a hob/oven fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, and Nespresso coffee machine. 

The adjacent dining space comfortably seats four people with beautiful views over the private green garden.

The outdoor space offers outdoor seating to enjoy a morning coffee or perhaps the complimentary bottle of Adnams wine you receive on arrival. St Margaret of Antioch church rises above the secluded cottage garden and provides several peaceful areas to sit and enjoy the colour of the seasonal blooms and maybe even a BBQ. 

Just across the village green there is a secluded orchard with breathtaking views of the Glaven, where guests are invited to enjoy the seasonal offerings, including apples, plums, damsons, and quinces. 

Upstairs, guests will find two elegantly furnished bedrooms:

• Bedroom 1: King-sized cast-iron bed and ample storage
• Bedroom 2: Double wooden bed 

Both bedrooms are served by a family bathroom with features a bath with a shower mixer tap, as well as complimentary toiletries. Towels and linens are also provided.

• The property is not pet-friendly.
• Well Cottages does not accept children from 12 months to 10 years old
• There is parking on the village green opposite
• A starter pack of logs, firelighters and kindling are provided upon arrival.
• A hairdryer, iron and ironing board are provided
• Travel cot with mattress and/or high chair are available on request at £10 per item

Surrounded by the natural beauty of North Norfolk, Well Cottage provides a tranquil escape while being within walking distance of local shops and pubs. Its secluded garden, overlooked by the historic St. Margaret’s Church, offers a serene space to relax and enjoy the changing seasons.
