    Piña Colada Festival

    When? Confirmed for 2023

    Where? Northwich Town Centre, Cheshire

Headliners: Max Mutant DJ, Golty, Pantsey Steel Band and Ruff Trade

The Northwich Piña Colada Festival is an unforgettable, free event. If you associate Piña coladas with destinations more tropical than Northwich, you should know that there is an excellent reason for this town to host the festival. Northwich is the birthplace of Rupert Holmes, the writer and singer of the Piña Colada song! Of course, Mr Holmes, whose real name is David Goldstein, has done much more than write that song; he is a multi-talented singer-songwriter who has written songs and a musical, stage plays, and books. Upon discovering that his town had produced such a notable celebrity, Northwich local Tom Barrow suggested that Northwich host a Piña Colada day. So many people loved it that the Piña Colada Festival was born. The Tony Award-winning Holmes did not make it for the 2022 festival, but he did record a message that can be found on the Visit Northwich socials. What can you expect from the Piña Colada Festival? In the spirit of the Caribbean, the streets fill with entertainment! Bars, pubs, restaurants, and cafes offer cocktails and mocktails showcasing their spin on the Piña colada, and some activities include live music, old-school street games, and free candy floss and popcorn. There are also dancing parades held throughout the day and throughout the town. The music starts around 11 am and continues well after 6 pm. This year’s Piña Colada Festival will be held on 19 August, and it is shaping up to be bigger than last year’s, so visit the website to get all the information you need.
