Is it any wonder that Cornwall is a big draw for filmmakers? The scenery is absolutely stunning, with its picturesque countryside, and over 400 miles of coastline. Rugged cliffs tower over azure blue waters, and secret beaches, secluded coves, and hidden swimming spots abound, easy to find from the Southwest Coast path. There are charming villages, medieval fortresses, and historic houses to explore, and while it is known for its quaint fishing villages, Cornwall also features gorgeous subtropical gardens. Here are a few of the productions that have entrusted their creative vision to this breath-taking region.
The Salt Path, filmed across a series of stunning locations along the Cornish coastline, brings the 2025 adaptation of Raynor Winn’s memoir to life with authenticity and emotion. From the iconic surf of Fistral Beach and the windswept dunes of Holywell Bay to the secluded tranquillity of Port Quin and the dramatic headland at Rame Head, each setting plays a vital role in conveying the story’s deeper themes. These places are not just backdrops—they echo the protagonists' journey of resilience, healing, and connection to the wild, untamed beauty of nature.
For those inspired to experience these breathtaking locations firsthand, Together Travel offers luxury holiday accommodations near Fistral Beach and Holywell Bay —perfect for a peaceful escape immersed in Cornwall’s natural beauty.
Interior Design Masters filmed the beautiful Together Travel villas at Trewhiddle Village. During the nationwide lockdown of the COVID pandemic, when the villas were not able to be put to their intended use, the Interior Design Masters team put the property to good use, filming series two of the popular program. Sheltered in the heart of the woodland, in the midst of rolling fields, Trewhiddle Village is very near the charming harbours of Charlestown and Mevagissey, as well as beautiful, soft, sandy beaches.
Last but certainly not least, Doc Martin’s lovely village of Portwenn was actually the Cornwall village of Port Isaac. If you have ever dreamed of strolling through that picturesque location, it is just 30 minutes from our Fistral Beach property.
If you have never visited Yorkshire, you really should. One of the most diverse and lovely counties in the UK, Yorkshire has quaint towns and quirky cities, rugged stone walls and limestone paths, moorland and mountains, coastline and rolling hills. It has everything you could want in a holiday, from hiking to historic sites to cosy pubs to stately estates. Take in the spectacular coastline views, walk on a beach, visit a market town, or gape in wonder at one of Yorkshire’s amazing waterfalls. While you are at it, check out some of these filming locations.
Wales is a small country, making up just a little over eight per cent of the UK’s total area, but it certainly packs a lot into a little location. Its diverse geography features everything from mountains to valleys to coastlines, and some of the scenery is absolutely stunning. If you have never been to Wales, you still might have seen some of this beauty, on the HBO series, House of the Dragon. This popular show chose the Llyn Peninsula to film some of its scenes, and we do not blame the filmmakers at all. In fact, we have chosen the gorgeous Llyn Peninsula for a unique collection of luxury accommodations, some located in converted barns, and some in a traditional Welsh farmhouse. We also have contemporary self-catering cottages and apartments, so you are sure to find your new favourite getaway.
Penrhyn Castle in North Wales stars as Ashford Castle in Netflix’s House of Guinness, doubling for the Guinness family’s real-life Irish estate. Though the drama unfolds in 19th-century Dublin and New York, Penrhyn’s neo-Norman architecture and lavish interiors convincingly evoke Ashford’s grandeur. Built in the early 1800s for the Pennant family, Penrhyn was designed to appear older, reflecting the Guinness family's pursuit of legacy and status. Its richly adorned rooms and imposing façade set the stage for scenes of family tension and power struggles after Sir Benjamin Guinness’s death. National Trust Cymru notes that the show’s themes of wealth, class, and conflict echo Penrhyn’s own layered history.
Just a short drive away, Nature’s Point offers luxury coastal cottages with panoramic views of the Irish Sea. Surrounded by cliffs, countryside, and wild coastal paths, it’s a haven of sandy beaches and Snowdonia vistas, an ideal retreat for nature lovers and those with a cinematic eye.
