Christmas in the Yorkshire Dales

    Cosy, Calm & Christmas-y

Christmas is one of our favourite parts of the year and spending it at one of our log cabins in Yorkshire makes it extra special. There is no better feeling than being cuddled up around a log-burner, whilst being immersed in nature, drinking a cup of tea (or whatever your tipple may be...)

Below are just 5 of the reasons we love the Yorkshire Dales at Christmas:

    1. Crisp Winter Walks

The Yorkshire Dales has some of the best walks in the UK, with acres upon acres of unspoilt land, fascinating trails, epic waterfalls and an abundance of rivers. Wrapping up warm on a crisp winter day and exploring Yorkshire is

Here are 3 of our best walks in the Yorkshire Dales, all of which start from our log cabins and include stopping points and pubs along the way.

And if you fancy a weird but wonderful adventure, then you must visit The Forbidden Corner, which is open throughout the Christmas period.

    1.  Games Galore

We love our lodges so much that we’re happy to spend as much time in them as possible, taking advantage of all the amenities and added extras.

Each lodge includes scrabble and monopoly, with some additional games in some of the lodges too. If board games aren't your thing, how about a classic game of eye spy or hide and seek?

    1. Cosy Log Burners & Big Bath Tubs

What is winter without a little warmth and comfort? Cuddling up watching a movie in front of one of the log burners is such a relaxing and special evening and nothing beats a warm bubble bath, especially if you've been out walking for the day.

    1. Winter Wildlife Watch

Since you'll be immersed in nature, why not create your own wildlife watch and see how many different species you can spot. There's many different animals to spot in winter, from robins, deer and water voles to mountain hares and more.

For the best places to spot these species, The National Trust has more information here

    1. Stargazing

Due to the minimal amount of light pollution at our rural lodges, stargazing is up there with one of our favourite things to do in the winter. We like to cuddle up in a blanket on the decking with a hot chocolate and watch the world go by.

Why not make it in to a game by downloading an astrology app and seeing what constellations you can spot.

Our lodges us are filling up fast for the winter period, so please secure yours as soon as possible, especially if you’re wanting to visit during the Christmas period. We can’t promise you snow, but we can promise an unforgettable Christmas that you’ll remember for years to come.
