With beaches, national parks, rolling countryside and countless visitor attractions all within an easy distance of Little Dunley Holiday Cottages, you will never be stuck for places to explore or ways to relax and entertain yourself.

It’s the perfect spot to pull on your walking boots and head out for an adventure. Dartmoor National Park, known for its wild open moorland and river valleys, is just a 15 minute drive away from the cottages. With many stunning walking trails, you can spend the day taking in the breathtaking sights before returning to the comfort of your cottage. Haldon Forest, one of Devon's most loved outdoor destinations, is also a 15 minute drive away and boasts stunning hiking and biking trails.

As well as being surrounded by lush green countryside, the cottages are also just 20 minutes from the coast. Some of the nearest beaches include, Torre Abbey Sands, Ness Cove, Shaldon, Teignmouth and Holcombe. So whether you’re looking to try a spot of surfing or simply soak up some sun, it’s all within easy reach.

If all the beach and woodland walks have tuckered you out and you’d prefer to watch someone else do all the hard work, Newton Abbot and Exeter racecourses are very close by. Enjoy a day at the races and try your luck on a bet or two. Or perhaps a sailing regatta is more your style, during the summer season.

If you have little ones to entertain, there is plenty to keep them occupied on and off the site. Paignton Zoo is just 30 minutes away, home to over 2,000 animals and countless plants across 80 acres of grounds. For the thrill seekers in the family, Crealy Adventure Park is also just a 25 drive away. The biggest theme park in Devon, Crealy promises a fun-filled day of rides and attractions.

Or if you prefer to spend you time getting to know the local area and learning of it’s history and culture you can venture into neighbouring towns and cities. Exter is vibrant and bustling place full of history and Cornish charm. The picturesque town of Totnes is a 23 minute drive away and known for drawing an art-loving crowd, this quirky town has a host of cool coffee shops and indie retailers to discover.

When you’ve completely tired yourself out for the day and you have your favourite tipple and good hearty meal on your mind, rest assured there are plenty of pubs and eateries in the local area to sample. The Dolphin Hotel & Restaurant which serves delicious, traditional British food with seasonal menus is a welcoming converted coach house with a delightful atmosphere. The Claycutters Arms, a beautiful, historic, and quintessentially English pub promises a sophisticated yet relaxed vibe. It is just a five minute drive or a short, scenic country walk on a pleasant evening. Home Farm Café serves local, season produce and is the perfect pit stop for spot punch of a cup of coffee and cake.
