What is a Cornish Cream Tea?
The perfect, light, afternoon indulgence, mostly enjoyed on the beautiful South Coast - consisting of a pot of freshly brewed tea, a delicious home-made scone (broken in half, not sliced), with a thick, layer of jam on the base, topped with a healthy dollop of clotted cream. Best paired with a sparkling, sea view, sunshine and your favourite people.

Teacup Tearoom (Mevagissey, 12 minutes from Trewhiddle Village)
Winning Gold for 'Best Cafe/Tearoom' and Bronze for' Most Dog Friendly Business' in the Cornwall Tourism Awards 2020/21, this gorgeous little spot is one of our favourite places to indulge in a traditional cream tea! Serving only the fluffiest, handmade scones with a side order of indulgent Rodda's Clotted Cream, Boddington Berries Jams and Tregothnan Tea, the focus here is on sourcing local ingredients, whilst retaining the vibe of a beloved family members front room - bliss!
Brown Sugar (Fowey, 1 minute walk from our Fowey apartments)
With a great position, Brown Sugar Cafe capture's the very essence of Fowey and Cornwall. Laid back and family friendly, Brown Sugar Cafe is the place where locals and holiday makers connect. Not only are the breakfasts, lunches and bakes iconic in general, their cream tea is just to die for.
The Jam Jar Cafe (Newquay, 15 minute walk from our Fistral Beach apartments)
Smaller sister of the beautiful Jam Jar Kitchen in nearby Crantock, this perfect pop-up serves a cornucopia of incredible bakes, breakfasts, coffees and more. The owner Jess strives to pour plenty of love into each handmade delicacy, and the menu speaks volumes of her mission to cater to all (vegans, celiacs and those with dietary requirements, rejoice!). Their popular cream tea is everything you would expect it to be, and ideal for our guests on the North coast.
Short & Strong Cafe (Charlestown, 8 minutes from Trewhiddle Village)
An ideal spot to sit in and admire the long-ships but equally brilliant at serving picnic sized portions to take down to the harbour!
