For many it’s just not an option to leave your four-legged friends behind while you pack your bags for a holiday. The beauty of many of our retreats is that they are perfectly placed to explore an abundance of landscapes which will be sure to get your dog’s tails wagging!

Here’s 3 of our best dog friendly holiday destinations in the UK, which we know will receive your pups paw of approval, oh and did we mention we have pet friendly properties on these locations too:​

        1. Llŷn Peninsula

Our holiday cottages in Wales are home to the wild Llŷn Peninsula, which is perfect for those with dogs that like to explore, and with a range of landscapes there’s no chance of either of you getting bored! Our Llŷn Peninsula retreat is a stone’s throw away from some of the most idyllic beaches in Wales. The iconic Porthdinllaean beach is one of our favourites (just 5 minutes from our luxury cottages); enjoy a leisurely dog walk along the coastal path and the opportunity for a post-walk splash to cool down. As the world-famous Ty Coch Inn also shares this beach, it’s the perfect excuse for a cold beverage while you both have a rest. As well as a multitude of beaches to choose from, there’s also the Wales Coast Path, which is perfect for longer walks and canine companions who like to stretch their legs.

       2. Yorkshire Dales

The Yorkshire Dales National Park is renowned worldwide for being one of the best walking spots in Britain. One of our favourites is a lovely riverside walk from Easby Abby to Richmond Castle which will take you through the best historic landmarks, making it both a pleasant dog walk and a fascinating family day out. The historical Easby Abbey is surrounded by the bubbling River Swale, which is perfect for pups (and humans!) that like to paddle. Taking you to the centre of Richmond, the walk comes to a grand finale at Richmond Castle, revealing panoramic views of the lush Dales – fit for a king! Dogs are also welcome at the castle, if they are kept on a lead. Our Yorkshire Dales retreat is perfectly located to discover this route and many other ones which loop around the glorious countryside.

       3. Trewhiddle

When it comes to dog walks you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to the South West Coast Path. It’s perfect for pups and their human companions because there’s acres and acres of routes to explore, and some great dog-friendly beaches and pubs along the way. Beach lovers will be kept content as there are many dog-friendly beaches which are easy to get to from our Trewhiddle retreat.
