In a Nutshell
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) plays a pivotal role in bringing Together Travel’s vision of exceptional service, immaculate standards, and warm hospitality to life. Supporting the General Manager, the AGM will help run the John O’Groats site efficiently and profitably, ensuring guests experience the very best of the luxury self-catering model.
This is a hands-on operational role requiring strong interpersonal skills, excellent organisational ability, a solutions-driven mindset, and close attention to detail. Working closely with Housekeeping, Maintenance and central Concierge teams, you’ll help deliver a seamless stay from arrival to departure.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting the General Manager, the AGM will:
- Assist in the day-to-day running of the lodges and apartments, helping maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and guest service.
- Oversee core site operations, including residence checks, inventories, guest communications, health & safety and local area knowledge.
- Plan weekly housekeeping schedules and ensure checks are carried out to maintain consistency and quality.
- Manage linen levels, stock rotation and cleaning materials, ensuring supplies are ordered in good time and stored correctly.
- Work closely with Maintenance and Concierge to coordinate simple operational tasks and follow up on guest requests.
- Support with guest arrivals, departures and on-site queries, offering friendly, knowledgeable and practical assistance.
- Monitor site condition through routine checks, reporting issues and aiding the maintenance process.
- Take responsibility for daily operations when the GM is off-site or on scheduled days off.
- Support team members with everyday tasks, scheduling and general organisation.
- Contribute to improving guest experience by reviewing feedback and supporting small but meaningful enhancements.
- Assist with occasional on-site events or group stays.
Alongside these operational tasks, the AGM will act as a brand ambassador, champion Together Travel standards, and help drive commercial performance through efficiency, guest satisfaction and positive word-of-mouth.
