Stargazing in the Outer Hebrides

Start staring skywards...

With such a northerly location and vast, sweeping landscapes unpolluted by artifical light, the Outer Hebrides has long been synonymous with intrepid explorers sneaking a peek of the elusive Northern Lights. Our Lews Castle team are armed with the best local insight into where you may be able to spot this beautiful, natural phenomenom so all you need to remember are your cameras, cosiest clothing and sense of adventure!

Our luxury suites and self-catering apartments offer the perfect base-camp to explore the many incredible natural wonders of both Lewis and Harris, with no restrictions on room access - allowing any late night excursions to come and go uninterrupted! Our sumptuous beds and deep bubbly tubs are the perfect antidote to nights spent cuddled up beneath the stars (and a visit to The Storehouse for our famous homemade waffles and pancakes, also go down a treat with our guests!)
