Lobbs Farm Shop, Heligan Gardens (14 minutes away)

Situated within the iconic Heligan Gardens, Lobbs Farm Shop should be on the bucket list of serious foodies and those that love to try authentic local fayre. The farm shop contains a wide range of produce, the vast majority of which are produced within just a few miles radius! Choose from meat, cheese and dairy, deli treats, fruit and vegetables, dairy products, baked goods and so much more! The team there can also put together bsepoke hampers for your stay - just ask!

Waitrose (Great Cornish Food Store), Truro (18 minutes away)

Whilst the presence of a Waitrose is a fairly standard occurrence across the country, what sets the Truro site apart is the adjacent Cornish Deli courtesy of Great Cornish Food Store. This trailblazing store and cafe stocks the widest range of corgeous Cornish goods in the South-West and is really worth a visit to help support the local economy!

 

CLASSIC PUBS

Polgooth Inn, Polgooth (4 minutes away)

This traditional 16th century pub is a classic Cornish stop-off when staying in the south, not least for it's gorgeous, home-grown ingredients in the kitchen garden, but its friendly atmosphere, roaring log fire and newly renovated beer garden. In the warm summer months there's live music outdoors, a well-stocked bar full of local ales and an unbelievable Sunday Lunch for those in the know. Well-behaved pets are welcome and they even serve their own crisp, homemade pizzas to keep little ones happy! 

Hawkins Arms, Probus (10 minutes away)

Situated in quaint Probus (home to the tallest church tower in Cornwall!), the pet-friendly Hawkins Arms perfectly blends the classic and contemporary with hearty pub dishes to match. Positioned as a 'country pub with flair', the menu happily suits all tastes with vegan and vegetarian options aplenty, alongside great local seafood and plenty of regional tipples.

Kingswood, London Apprentice (6 minutes away)

Hidden in the beautiful Pentewan Valley and just a short drive from both our St Mewan Cottages and our Trewhiddle Villas, the Kingswood offers a really enjoyable dining experience right on your doorstep. The family run restaurant changes its menu to complement the seasons, and you can find a wide range of locally sourced seafood, delicious smaller plates and other treats within their expansive choices.

Longstore, Charlestown (10 minutes away)

Set in a stunning location overlooking the harbour & bay in Charlestown, they're a bar and restaurant specialising in craft beers, local steaks and seafood. Perfect for catching up with family and friends after a day spent beach-hopping! During the summer, the Longstore launches a fantastic pop-up; HarbourQ, serving epic BBQ trays, taco's, seafood snacks and cocktails, down on the harbourside - well worth a try!

Wreckers, Charlestown (10 minutes away)

With dishes influenced by it's harbour setting, there's nothing more enjoyable than sipping a chilled glass of wine and tucking into a steaming bowl of mussels on the Wreckers outdoor deck, overlooking the shimmering sea. Set in a quirky old boat house, there are plenty of incredible seafood plates to choose from; mussels, crab, lobster - plus vegan, vegetarian, gluten and dairy free options.

 

SNACKS & DINERS

Hubbox, Pentewan (11 minutes away)

Sat directly on the soft, golden sands of Pentewan Beach (the outdoor seating gives ample opportunity to dig in your toes!), this quirky Cornish diner should not be missed on your trip to South Cornwall. Serving up an eclectic mix of burgers, salads and dirty fries, the menu might seem super relaxed but the ingredients are all sourced within the county and are of the highest quality. Order up a platter of free-range wings, halloumi fries and one of their signature malt milkshakes and watch the sun sparkle over the sea - bliss!

The Boathouse, Charlestown (9 minutes away)

Housed right in the heart of Charlestown, just a short stroll from the tall ships that float happily in the harbour, The Boathouse is the perfect pit-stop for an impromptu breakfast, lunch or snack. Their wide range of options will satisfy even the fussiest of palettes and their babycinos and mini hot chocolates are ideal for little ones. For grown-up explorers, the seafood linguine is superb and an indulgent treat in this incredible seaside spot.
